Half Hollow Hills East (NY) junior attack Alexis Maffucci has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University.

Alexis Maffucci log:

Alexis Maffucci

High School: Half Hollow Hills High School East, NY

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Attack

College Choice: Johns Hopkins

Club Affiliation: Yellow Jackets 2013 Blue

Major lacrosse honors: Varsity in 8th grade; All division as a freshman; All- county as a sophomore; Under Armor all American team 2011; LI metro school girls team.

Academic honors: High Honor Roll throughout High school; scholar athlete.

What will you major in/study? “I’m not quite sure of which major I would like to study. But if I had to choose anything, it would be something along the lines of sports medicine, or physical therapy.”

Why did you choose Johns Hopkins? “I chose Hopkins because of the great lacrosse program that it has, and also its high academics. Lacrosse will always be important but my academics come first. I also chose Hopkins because the campus was beautiful, and it was a place where I could see myself going to school for four years.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “Last year we made it to the second round of playoffs, and lost to West Islip. I think this year, even though we have lost some key players, we will only continue to get better. I think if we work hard, we can go far in the upcoming season.”
