St. Mary’s Annapolis junior goalie Kelly Gielner has committed to play Division I lacrosse at UMBC.

What will you major in/study? Pre-Physical Therapy
Why did you choose UMBC? “When I visited UMBC, I felt really comfortable and welcomed by the players. I knew right away that UMBC was the school for me. The combination of academics and lacrosse were the perfect match. The coaches also played a major role in my decision. UMBC is the perfect location and not far from home. The school is a great fit and I can not wait to be a Dawg.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “My team is looking forward to a great season. We have many returning seniors with a mix of underclassmen.”
Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my mom for always being in the stands cheering me on. A thank you to my dad for teaching me the game of lacrosse and stringing all of my sticks. I would also like to thank my club and school coaches. A special thanks to all of the wonderful players I have played with and against. I have met so many great lacrosse people over the years.”
