Carley Sturges log:

Carley Sturges

High School: Bullis School

Graduation Year: 2012

Position: Attack

College Choice: Roanoke College

Club Affiliation: Rebels

Major lacrosse honors: Elite 180

Academic honors: High Honor Roll, honor roll

What will you major in/study? Sports Psychology/Sports Medicine

Why did you choose Roanoke? “When I walked onto the campus I felt comfortable, which was really important for me when I was looking at colleges. The campus is beautiful and it was the type of college I was looking for. Also Roanoke has my major, which was a huge factor when I was looking at colleges as well. I also felt like I connected well with the lacrosse coach.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “We have a lot of potential this year, many good and young players. We can do well, it’s just a matter of playing as a team and working together not just on the field but off the field as well.”

Additional comments: “I would really like to thank my club coaches, Kim Lenta, and Mike Haight. When I started playing for Rebels it was a completely new club team, (I switched over from another club team), and I was really nervous because it was a new team and a new club. I wanted to do well and I wanted to get noticed by Colleges. Coach Lenta, and Coach Haight made sure that they did everything they could for each and every one of us on the team.

“Now everyone who wanted to play lacrosse in college is playing in college at an appropriate school for them. They really helped me get where I am and where I am going.”
