Men’s recruit: Severn junior attackman Dennin commits to Colgate

Severn junior attackman Mike Dennin has committed to play Division I lacrosse at Colgate University.

High School: Severn

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Attackman

College Choice: Colgate

Club Affiliation: T2 Saloon

Major lacrosse honors: Varsity freshman year, All-Academic team 2010-11

What will you major in/study? Economics

Why did you choose Colgate? “I went to Colgate and absolutely loved it. My Dad played basketball there. Coach (Mike) Murphy is an awesome guy and so are the assistant coaches. I could not imagine myself anywhere else.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “I think we’re going to be really good. We have some really good returning players. I think we’ll be strong and should compete in the MIAA.”

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my coaches at Severan, Coach (Brian) Wood and Coach (Chris) Howes. My family who helped me with the whole process, especially my Mom and Dad. They stressed academics a lot and set me on right path.”

Other schools considered: Brown, Penn, Cornell, Rutgers, West Point, Air Force.
