It was a most impressive showing for McDonogh and Bryn Mawr at the inaugural Maryland-New York Challenge last weekend at St. Paul’s.

McDonogh routed Garden City, 20-9, and Hauppuage, 14-1. Both Long Island teams entered play undefeated. Bryn Mawr whipped St. Anthony’s, 15-7, and Garden City, 8-3. With those stunning back-to-back wins, the Mawrtians moved back to the No. 2 spot in our rankings and probably the No. 2 spot in every national poll.

That’s not to say that former No. 2 Century has not looked most imposing. The Knights are 10-0 and have earned the right to play McDonogh, which they’ll do next Monday on the road.
