South River defeated Westminster, 10-8, tonight to win the MPSSAA Boys’ Class 4A/3A State Championship at UMBC.

The victory capped a 21-0 season for South River.

Meanwhile, the Hereford-Glenelg boys’ Class 3A-2A state title game has been postponed to 4 p.m. Thursday at UMBC due to inclement weather that delayed the South River-Westminster game.

The Hereford-Glenelg game was supposed to start at 8 p.m. following the conclusion of the Severna Park-Westminster girls’ Class 4A-3A state title.

That game was also postponed and will be played Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at UMBC.

Tyler White scored late in the second quarter to spark a 4-0 run for the Anne Arundel County champions to close the half.

the Seahawks opened the second half with four more unanswered goals and seized an 8-7 lead on Lavon Chaney’s score with just over three minutes left in the third quarter. Michael Strange then tallied a man-up goal to put his team ahead for good.
