Jake Fox

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Attack

College Choice: Johns Hopkins University

Club Affiliation: 3D Canada, Edge Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors: All-Star at Baltimore Summer Kick-off, All-Star Denver Shootout, Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip

Academic honors, service projects: Volunteer Lacrosse Coach-Gloucester Minor Box, Volunteer Football Coach-Orleans Bengals, Honor Student

What will you major in/study? “I’m still undecided, however, I am considering Business and Law.”

Why did you choose Johns Hopkins? “I picked JHU for many reasons. The academics are recognized and highly regarded. It offers a small school feeling within a fairly large city. They treat lacrosse as their number 1 sport on camps, not football or basketball, it’s lacrosse.

“The biggest factor was Coach (Dave) Pietramala. He’s a great coach and great guy in general. He’s exactly the type of coach I want to play for.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “It’s going to be my first year at Trinity Pawling as I am transferring from my high school in Ottawa so I’m not 100% sure about what to expect.

“I’m excited for the new opportunity and excited to play for Coach Nic Bell. From what I’ve heard from a lot of people around tournaments and camps this summer he is often referred to as one of the top, up and coming young coaches. I know he won Coach of the Year in the Founders League. I am excited to play for him.

“From what I hear we have a great core of key players returning. I’m expecting a great season for the Pride.”

Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank my parents Jay and Dawn and my younger brother Hayden for all their support. Also my grandparents who have helped me so much.

“I’d like to thank my first field coach Dean French (Chairman of Team Canada Lacrosse) who told me if I wanted to play in the NCAA, to develop my off hand. Best coaching tip I ever got. Final shout out to Jamie Munro and 3d Lacrosse. Playing for his program this summer was an awesome experience and was huge in the recruiting process.”
