St. Mary’s Annapolis rising sophomore LSM-defenseman Bryce Carrasco has committed to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Maryland.

What will you major in/study? Undecided, possibly business
Why did you choose Maryland? “I want to represent my home state and its always been my dream to play lacrosse at Maryland. Also, I didn’t want to go far away from home.”
Outlook for 2013 HS season? “St. Mary’s just hired a completely new coaching staff so this season should be interesting. Talent wise I think that we have the potential to do big things in the MIAA. There is definitely a lot of young talent.”

Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank Matt Hogan, who has been one of my coaches since I started playing and is the Vice Principal at St. Mary’s. He’s helped me out a lot with the recruiting process and many other things.
“Thanks also to Dave Cottle who has taught me a lot about lacrosse and guided me throughout the process. Lastly Rob Chomo, who was the former head coach of St. Marys, who really helped me out with the decision making process and is a great coach.”
