Boys’ recruit: Georgetown Prep sophomore midfielder-FO Olson commits to Johns Hopkins

Georgetown Prep sophomore midfielder-FO Jack Olson has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University.

College Choice: Johns Hopkins University

Club Affiliation: Baltimore Lacrosse Club – CRABS 2015

Major lacrosse honors: Rookie of the Year (Prep varsity), Maryland Free State Team, Jake Reed/Nike Blue Chip

Academic honors: Dean’s List at Georgetown Prep

What will you major in/study? Business or Pre-Med

Why did you choose Johns Hopkins? “I chose JHU because it’s one of the very best universities in the country and the best lacrosse program in history. It’s a long way off, but I’m looking forward to playing for Coach Pietramala, Coach Benson and the Hopkins community.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “We’ll prove that on the field.”

Additional Comments: “There are many great people that have helped me develop as a lacrosse player. I’m fortunate and grateful to be coached by Coach Kevin Giblin and the Prep coaching staff – Mike Kubik, Charlie Horning, Ted Moon and Brendan Dowd. I’m also fortunate to run with the CRABS (Baltimore Lacrosse Club) in the summer for Coach Brian Kelly (CRABS 2015) and Ryan McClernan.

“I’m blessed to be involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the FCA lacrosse ministry which is led by Drew Wardlow. I want to thank the Club Blue organization and all the Club Blue coaches. I would also like to shout out to Kevin Kistler Jr who is a great coach and an even better friend.

“Lastly, I would like to thank the Mater Dei School for showing me how to “work hard, play hard, pray hard, and be a good guy.”
