Gilman sophomore attackman Andy Matthews has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of North Carolina.

Why did you choose North Carolina? “I chose North Carolina because I felt at home while I was there. In addition, I was glad to see that the classes at North Carolina are surprisingly small. Plus, I am hoping that when I arrive on campus Carolina will be contending for National Championships.”

Outlook for HS team in 2013: “At Gilman I believe that we will be a strong team, although slightly inexperienced in some places.”
