Chaminade sophomore midfielder Thomas O’Connell has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Maryland.

Major lacrosse honors: Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip Rising Sophomores Camp, US Lacrosse U15 National Championships, Tri-State Nationals, Long Island Laxfest and Lehigh Laxfest.
What will you major in/study? Business Finance, and then Law School
Why did you choose Maryland? “The main factor for me choosing Maryland was the quality of the education and the academics at the university. Another important factor was the opportunity to play for Head Coach John Tillman and Assistant Coach Ryan Moran with the chance to play for a National Title.”
Outlook for your HS team next season? “Like every season at Chaminade High School the goal is to Win the Championship.”
Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank Coach Gene Isnardi who talked me into giving up baseball and staying with lacrosse, for his help in my development, and for his guidance in the lacrosse world.
“Thank you to my Long Island Junior Lizards Lacrosse Coach Todd Esposito, who has coached me and worked on my lacrosse game the last four summers and help develop me into the player I am so far today.
“Finally, thank you to my parents for driving me around weekends in the summers, and state to state to all the different lacrosse tournaments.”
