The John Carroll School junior midfield-attack Alyssa Lazarro has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Jacksonville University.

Why did you choose Jacksonville? “The combination of JU’s academic curriculum, which will allow me to follow my dream of Medicine. The coaches and their philosophy for each individual member of their team. As well as being a JU Dolphin and of course playing on the sunny beaches of Florida. I could not have asked for a better fit.”
Outlook for your HS team next season? “Our team had it’s up and downs last year but in 2013 I hope to be more of a leader, constantly improving my lax IQ and overall skills which will help our team improve in the playoffs.”
Additional Comments: “I would like to give thanks to my Skywalker coaches, Amy Metzger and DeeDee Franke for all of their assistance and guidance through the past few years.
“I would like to thank my Dad for teaching me to have discipline, organization and to learn from my mistakes. I would like to thank him for his coaching skills and his constructive advice. He helped to strengthen and improve my skills in playing my favorite sport.
“Finally, I would also like to thank my Mom for the hours of sacrifice taking me to games and practices always making sure I was punctual and for encouraging me when I felt that I couldn”t go on. I also want to thank her for putting up with the drama of a teenager daughter, me.”
