Bombers down Kingfish, improve to 2-0 in North American Lacrosse League

The Baltimore Bombers won their first home game ever in the North American Lacrosse League Sunday by downing the Rhode Island Kingfish, 12-8, at Du Burns Arena.

The Bombers scored the final five goals of the game and improved to 2-0.

The Bombers trailed 8-7 in the final period when captain Dan Marohl (St. Mary’s, UMBC) scored off a pass from Jordan Kenney with 6:52 to play. Devin Spilker (two goals) scored the game-winner 48 seconds later.

Ben Rubeor (Loyola-Blakefield), Andrew Wasik and Pete Cannon added two goals each. Kenney had a goal and two assists, and Dan Deckelbaum (Owings Mills) scored once. Ginny Capicchioni made 34 saves in goal.

Goalie Joe Evans (Salisbury) made 31 stops for the Kingfish (0-2). Mike Maggio led the Kingfish with two goals and added an assist.

The Bombers will host the Boston Rockhoppers Sunday at 3 p.m.
