Boys’ recruit: Severna Park junior attackman McCormack commits to VMI

Severna Park junior attackman Keegan McCormack has made a verbal commmitment to play Division I lacrosse at Virginia Military Institute.

Major lacrosse honors: Baltimore Summer Kickoff, Crab City Challenge, Brine Shootout, Top 205; All-Star at both Loyola Rising Juniors and Connecticut Super Sophs, All-Anne Arundel County Indoor Selection

Academic honors, service: National Honor Society, Honor Roll every semester, 4.23 GPA, Volunteer with the Anne Arundel County Parks and Recreation Adaptive Needs Sports Program, Volunteer with Maryland Special Olympics

What will you major in/study? Engineering

Why did you choose VMI? “It presents the ultimate challenge, excellent academics in a rigorous military environment. I loved the location of the school and felt more comfortable with the coaches and players on my visit than I did at other schools.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “We have tremendous talent and coaching. If we stay healthy as a team the sky is the limit; we will definitely be competing for a County and State Championship this year.”

Additional comments: “Growing up in Severna Park, I have had great coaches from the time I started playing (6 years old), but special thanks to Coach Larry Kramer Severna Park and my Annapolis Hawks coaches, Jim Moorhead, Chris Auth and Dave Cottle.”
