The National 175 has announced that the Second Annual Best Of The Best (BOB) Team Showcase – which launched last year to strong reviews – will be held on July 4-6 at Mitchell Athletic Complex in Uniondale, N.Y.

The event is already filled with many of the top club teams, Including retuning champions Dukes {PA} and Team Turnpike {NJ} and semifinalists such as the LI Express, Ct Chargers, Team Minnesota, and Team Twist {PA}. The list of club teams attending this July 4-6th is most impressive with elite teams from all regions of the country.Best of Best

But next summer’s BOB will kick off with some NEW fireworks of its own – on the lacrosse field.

On the morning of July 4, the National 175 will hold the inaugural BOB Individual Showcase where 175 of the top players in the Classes of 2015, 2016 and 2017 will compete individually before the Team Showcase begins at 6 p.m. With so many players attending for the weekend, the individual spots are expected to be filled quickly.

These showcases will be supporting the Navy Seal Foundation. The National 175 will make a $10,000 donation with a goal towards raising another $15,000 for this event [GOAL: $25,000], and feature a special presentation by the President of the Navy Seals Foundation as they pay tribute on this July 4th holiday.

The competition at the BOB Team Showcase was keen last year and quickly stamped the event as one of the most anticipated of the summer season. Three age class champions were crowned and competition this year is expected to be even keener. (see list of expected teams).

The National 175 runs two Individual Showcases each in the spring/summer period and two more in the late Fall. All players are welcome to apply. Click here for individual showcase registration.

Comments from past National 175 attendees:

Cameron Rasco, Choate Rosemary Hall (CT) 2015 defenseman, who competed last week in the National 175 in Uniondale, N.Y.:

“My goals were to look at the level of competition in the Northeast, to get seen by coaches and get my name out there. I played well today; balls were rolling my way and everything was going well. I learned how to play with players I didn’t know. This helps me to see where the level is at, what level other players are playing at and what the coaches are looking for.”

Conestoga (PA) 2016 attackman Matt Schleicher, who attended the Fall Showcase at Avon Old Farms earlier in November: “I thought my team played great together. Nobody was too unselfish and they all moved the ball. The pace of the play was as high as any showcase. The venue was really nice.

“I kind of learned at the 175 that it’s not all about yourself. You’ve got to make other people look good; that’s what college coaches see. If you make that great assist it heightens your team. I realized I needed to start doing that more and I tried to apply that more when I played at the Philly Showcase.”

Nick Gamba, a 2016 attackman from St Anthony’s (N.Y.), who has attended two National 175 Showcases: “There were a lot of coaches and I felt like I got some pretty good looks from a lot of schools. I had a lot of players from all over the country. I had a kid from California and Florida. It was really fun.”

National 175 founder/director Marty Sands explained that “We try very hard to offer a venue that works well for both players and college coaches during the highly competitive recruiting process. We believe that both our individual and club team showcases over July 4th weekend have already attracted a great many of the top club teams and with so many of these gathering for that weekend, the individual showcase will likely feature an incredibly talented group of players from all over the country competing as individuals in front of many college coaches. Most importantly, this venue will also allow the boys to learn more about, and consider supporting, the Navy Seal Foundation on our 4th of July Weekend.”
