MadLax downed NJ South, 8-6, for the U13 championship Tuesday at Dick’s Sports Goods Park in Commerce City (CO) at the 2014 World Lacrosse Festivals.

MadLax won its U13 crown after advancing to the finals with a 5-4 overtime win over Denver Elite and a 13-5 conquest of 3d Select 2019. NJ South toppled Colorado Wild, 12-4, in the semis.

The MadLax offense was lad by Taylor Musa and Finlay MacKnight. Musa had the winning goal in semi-final OT game vs Denver Elite.

The midfield was led by Rory Bracken, Brian Wilmans, Jon Bender, Pete Sitton, Mason Edwards and Jackson Philips. Bracken and Wilmans dominated face-offs all week and Bender was the high scoring middie. Edwards played the best shortstick defense.

The defense lead by Mike Grogan, Andrew Stanzel, Bryce Kearney. Mike Grogan was a completely dominating force on wings and at LSM all week. He scored many goals as well. Goalie and Team MVP was Tim Marcille, who shut down teams at times.

MadLax had players from Texas, California, Florida, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Edmonton.
