The 2015 National Lacrosse Invitational is accepting registrations from high school teams from across the country for its inaugural tourney on June 20-21 at Ward Melville (N.Y).

What makes the N.L.I. unique is its focus on town teams and local development. The N.L.I. will focus on the team environment where individuals will stand out in their H.S. teams system and style of play. The feedback received from many college coaches supports this.NLI

College coaches feel that unselfish team play focused around a system, rather then individuals on “All Star Teams”, serves as a more accurate indicator for long-term collegiate success. “All-Star Showcases” and “All Star Teams” are not reality. The N.L.I will provide a more realistic environment for players to showcase their individual talents while striving toward a common team goal.

The Coaching Staffs from Long Island powers Ward Melville, Smithtown East and Smithtown West will host the event. Only 30 teams will be selected to participate in this invitation only, geographically diverse, exclusive event. Teams will compete in a minimum of six games with an overall tournament champion being crowned on Sunday afternoon. Over 40 College Coaches have committed ( In addition, almost half the spots have already filled after one weekend.
