McDonogh School 2018 goalkeeper Julia Cooper has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Stanford University.

Graduation Year: 2018

Position: Goalkeeper

College Choice: Stanford University

Club Affiliation: M&D 2018 Black

Lacrosse Honors: UNC Summer Elite Goalie MVP (and Night Team Champ); Stanford Summer Elite Cardinal Award; Stanford Winter Elite Goalie Award (and Night Team Champ); Winner of 16 National Tournaments with M&D, including Club National Championship, National Draw, Brine National Championship, Mid-Atlantic Championship, Chesapeake Cup, BeachLax Festival, etc. Selected to the Elite 120.

Academic Honors: Recipient of the A. Ludlam Michaux Award for Character and Influence, June, 2014; Dean’s List, Fall, 2014

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose Stanford? “My academic interests lie mainly in the STEM areas, and Stanford’s computer science and engineering programs are among the best. I also like the Stanford coaching staff, the current commits and the team atmosphere.”

Outlook for 2015 HS season? “McDonogh’s Varsity will begin 2015 riding a 112-game winning streak and looking for it’s 6th consecutive National Championship. Each of our opponents will be highly motivated to end our run!”
