Mercy High School 2016 goalie Taylor Sisk has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).

Taylor Sisk

High School: Mercy High School

Graduation Year: 2016

Position: Goalie

College Choice: University of Maryland Baltimore County

Club Affiliation: Skywalkers 2016 Blue

Lacrosse Honors: All-B conference 2015, Elite 120, Defensive player of the year 2013

What will you major in/study? Pre-Med: Biological Science

Why did you choose UMBC? “I chose UMBC because they have a great coaching staff, and teammates are very closely-bonded (they are like a big family).

“First thing that was very important was that they had my Pre-Med major and the Neuroscience & Cognitive Science program. Even though I wanted to go far away I now realize that it will be nice to come home occasionally to see my family.”

Outlook for 2016 HS season? “I believe our team will do just as well as last year with hopes of being better. We have great returning players like Caroline Cummings, Kaitlyn Kozlowski, Riley Rumbley, and Katie Yeagle that will be a huge help in guiding the new freshmen.

“Last year we made it to the B-Conference championship but unfortunately lost to Glenelg Country. This year we’re looking to build on our unfinished business and get back to the championship, but this time big hopes to win.”

Thank You: “I’d like to thank all my coaches, for High School Jackie Dysert, Brian Casserly, Kerianne Allen, and especially my Skywalkers coaches who have been with me for eight years Melissa Diepold, Ally Carey, and my goalie coach Scott Bentkowski; also like to thank all my team members, each one has made me a better player (Mercy and Skywalkers).

“A special thanks to my mom for always being there and supporting me throughout all the years and helping me train during off seasons.”

Other schools considered: UCONN, Denver, Winthrop, Michigan, Cornell
